Facts >> Timeline for Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on Patterson Ranch housing development proposal

October 22, 2007: Release of the Notice of Preparation of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) on the Patterson Ranch proposal. There will be a 30-day time period (October 22 - November 20) for the public, interested parties, and agencies to send letters with comments on the impacts of the proposed development and what alternative proposals for the land should be studied and included in the report.

November 5, 2007, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Fremont City Council Chambers, 3300 Capitol Ave.: Fremont City Council will hold a public "scoping" meeting since the Notice of Preparation has been released, where the Patterson Ranch proposal is described and the public can ask questions and give comments on alternative proposals. "Scoping" means the scope of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR), what alternative plans should be studied.

November 13, 2007, 5:30-6:30 p.m., Fremont City Council Chambers, 3300 Capitol Ave.: Open Fremont City Council and Planning Commission study session on the Patterson Ranch proposed development and EIR: presentation from staff on project, council members ask questions, and comments from the public as time allows.

January 2008: Draft EIR is presented to City staff. Citizens and groups can give comments within 45-day period. An amendment to the draft EIR is written in response to comments with a 10-day comment period prior to issuance of final EIR.
